Universal Instructions

MagLock Wireless

Quick Start Guide

  1. Turn the unit on by inserting the included key and turning it towards the green dot.
  2. Download and install the eWeLink app on your smartphone.
  3. IMPORTANT: You must create a free eWeLink account with your email and do NOT use trial/guest mode. Please ensure you always use this account, as it will be permanently linked with your MagLock Wireless device.

  4. Once signed into the app, click the plus (+) button in the upper right corner and select the "Add Device" option.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network information and click "Next".
  6. Once pairing is complete, you should see a new device on the home screen of the app.
  7. Toggle this device to "on" and you should hear a click.
  8. Insert the pin (or plate for Model B) and press down fully until the lock engages.
  9. Setup complete! You can now set timers in the app or link with Apple Shortcuts, IFTTT, or other third-party services for more complex automation.

Additional Tips & Notes

  • Setting a timer requires Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is a fallback option that only allows simple on/off control.
  • Do not remove or delete the device from the app unless your device is currently connected to the app.

Remote Pairing (Optional)

To pair the optional 2.4 GHz remote:

  1. Open the eWeLink app.
  2. Select the MagLock Wireless device you would like to pair with the remote.
  3. Navigate to Device SettingseWeLink Remote.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to connect to your device or accidentally unpair it, you will need to perform a hard reset:

  1. Remove the four screws holding the cover in place using a standard hex wrench or screwdriver. (For Classic units, unscrew the two screws holding the electromagnet in place.)
  2. Locate the microcontroller and hold down the small black button for 7 seconds until the LED light begins flashing at a different speed.
  3. Open the eWeLink app, click the plus (+) icon, and reconnect your device following the setup steps.

AFD OpenShock [Beta]

Overview

AFD-OS (ArtisanForgeDesigns OpenShock) is a free, open-source web app that uses the OpenShock engine to provide simple, automated, hands-free use of OpenShock devices. It is designed for simplicity, reliability, and ease of use.

Quick Start

Navigate to https://afd-os-production.up.railway.app

Configuration

Intensity values can be in the following formats:

  • Fixed Number (e.g., 15): Uses the same intensity each time the device is triggered.
  • Range (e.g., 15-50): Randomly selects a number within the range each time.
  • Incremental (e.g., +10): Increases the intensity by 10 each time, starting at 0 and looping once 100 is reached.

Ice Lock Instructions

Traditional Ice Locks (Heavy and Lite Variants)

  • There is no maximum fill level. Simply fill the body with water and insert the pin; excess water will be pushed out naturally without the need for precise measurements.
  • To extend the locking duration even further, you can wrap the body in foam tape, followed by an outer layer of electrical tape.

Instant Ice Lock

  1. Remove the two screws from the cover and insert a standard-size ice cube into the body.
  2. Replace the cover and re-insert the two screws to secure it in place.

Classic Timer Instructions

Note: Both styles function identically. The only difference is the casing.

Basic Usage

  1. Plug the timer into a power bank and wait for the display to turn on.
  2. Press down on the dial until it clicks to toggle between 5-minute and 30-minute increments.
  3. Turn the dial to the desired time, then wait a few seconds for the timer to begin.
  4. Once the countdown begins, you will see two dots blinking, indicating the output is energized.
  5. When the timer reaches zero, power will be cut to the output.

Additional Tips & Troubleshooting

  • The Classic Timer module is rated for up to 10W or four locks simultaneously.
  • If the timer display flashes and resets when the countdown begins or when you connect the output device, please use a different power bank. Lower-quality power banks may have a brief dip in output that causes the timer to reset once a load is connected.
  • The USB to 12V converters can power up to 2-3 locks each but will begin to overheat if you attempt to power four locks on a single converter.

Certified & Tested Power Banks

The following power banks are certified to work without issue (this is not a complete list):

  • Anker Powercore 5K
  • Miady 2-Pack Portable Charger, Ultra Slim 10000mAh PD 20W

Smart Timer Instructions

NOTE: The Smart Timer has been discontinued and replaced by the Classic Timer.

V1 Instructions (Single Output Style)

  1. Download and install the eWeLink app on your smartphone.
  2. Plug the USB module into a power source and observe that the blue light is flashing at a non-constant pace (short, short, long).
  3. Hold the button down for 10 seconds, or until the light is flashing at a rapid constant pace (all flashes of equal length and spacing). Do not proceed until the LED is flashing at a rapid constant pace.
  4. Once signed into the eWeLink app, click the plus (+) button in the upper right corner and select the "Scan" option.
  5. Point your phone's camera at the QR code on the USB timer and enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi information when prompted.

IMPORTANT: You must choose a 2.4 GHz network or your device will show as "Offline" after setup. If this happens, remove the device, start over, and select a 2.4 GHz network.

  6. Setup complete! You can now set timers in the app or link with third-party services.
  7. To set timers, click on the "Micro CFH" device in the app, turn the device on to activate the electromagnet, click "Timers" at the bottom of the screen, and set an OFF timer.

V2 Instructions (Dual Output Style)

  1. Download and install the eWeLink app on your smartphone. You must create an account; do not use guest mode.
  2. Plug the USB module into a power source.
  3. In the eWeLink app, click the plus (+) button in the upper right corner and select "Add Device".
  4. Click the plus (+) button for the device, enter your Wi-Fi information, and follow the prompts.

  6. To set timers, click on the device name, click the "Timers" icon at the bottom, and set an OFF delay timer.

Random Timer Feature

The Random Timer feature allows you to set a timer with a randomized duration within a specified range.

  1. After configuring your MagLock device in the eWeLink mobile app, navigate to live.artisanforgedesigns.com.
  2. Click the "Login" button and enter your eWeLink credentials. (OAuth2 ensures that your credentials are secure and are only sent to eWeLink.)
  3. Once authenticated, select your device from the dropdown menu. If your device is greyed out, confirm that it is connected in the eWeLink mobile app.
  4. Enter a minimum and maximum time range in minutes. (Or enter the same number twice for a fixed duration.) Click "Start" to begin.
  5. The timer will be saved directly to the microcontroller inside your MagLock Wireless device. The device will unlock at the scheduled time even if connectivity is lost or there is a power outage. You can see the timer appear as active in the eWeLink mobile app immediately after clicking the start button.

Layout Diagrams

The following connection diagram shows how to connect multiple MagLock units using the Classic Timer:

Connection Flow:
Power Bank → Classic Timer → USB 4-Way Splitter → USB-DC Adapters → MagLock Units

This setup allows you to control up to four MagLock units simultaneously with a single Classic Timer module.
